Windows Domain Setup

I am normally involved day to day in delivering MS related study materials to full time networking students.

Security at the moment, is my interest and maybe eventually an area I will attempt to move into, hopefully with the assistance of this community and the tutor team!

The students generally are coming from a non networking/computing background so I keep the explanations simple and quick.

Perhaps some of these videos I have made for the students might be of use to some here, most probably you wont find these useful if you already have a strong networking background but for anyone who does not and would like a quick start up guide to installing and configuring some MS services for testing you might find these of use.

Apologies for the sound quality, we dont get much in the way of development time from the college so alot of this is done in my own personal time, so far from polished.

The videos are also focused on a particular practical lab scenario that is set for the students on a full time course so are configured to meet the requirments of that. But you will get the idea and perhaps adapt your own lab to suit your own personal interests.

Setting up the Windows 2k3 Domain:

Setting up DHCP Windows 2k3:

http://mahoodle.stow.ac.uk/~rray/291/2netinfdhcp.wmv

Setting up standard DNS zones and adding records:

http://mahoodle.stow.ac.uk/~rray/291/3netinfdns.wmv

You could try out insecure DNS for zone transfers etc, also maybe interesting for scanning and enumeration etc. Introduce your BT4 to the network.

Feel free to pick me up on any errors or provide me with any comments etc. I am always looking to improve.

No problems. I get good enough use out them in my regular job. I only ask that these are not distributed in any other way.

Absolutely. I never saw the point of plastering other people's efforts around town anyway.

Appreciate the contribution. Will try it out in my lab.
