What is the hardware required for the labs? (For both PTS and PTP)

Any web browser (for IE version 8+ is required) is supported. If you run Kali Linux/Backtrack as a virtual machine you will need at least 2GB of RAM. Minimum internet speed of 512 Kbit/s recommended for video streaming

What about the lab usageof let's say 60 hours? How long is the usage valid? So I use 1 hour of lab, then there's 59 hours left. So I can use the 59 hours whenever?

To the best of my knowledge, you have a 2 years time-frame in which you can use the lab time. So, if you purchase 60 hours lab time today, you have until January 2019 to use them, otherwise they expire. 2 years is more than enough to solve personal / work issues and dedicate time to the labs.

Hardware Suggestion (my set-up)

Run a virtual software (VMware Workstation, Virtual Box)

with either 1 or 2 virtual machines

1. Kali Linux (must)
2. Window XP

Kali Linux is the primary OS used in this course. While a majority of the tools are available in Windows, they are not a widespread and the percentage of users are less.

Windows XP is just a copy of the lab used for the Buffer Overflow section. (not needed but saves lab time)
