eLearnSecurity is hiring

Recommended Posts

GiRa

Hi guys,
eLearnSecurity is growing, it is growing a lot, so we are looking for talented people to join our teams in Pisa, Dubai and Santa Clara.

It does not matter if you are a developer, a security guy or an IT automation wizard. We are looking for you!
There are also some junior positions coming out, so do not be shy.

If you think you have the skills and the passion to work in an highly dynamic and international environment, to daily challenge yourself with new technologies and new frontiers, this is the place for you.

If you want to join us, please send to jobs@elearnsecurity.com your resume and a coverletter in which you explain why you think you are the right person for eLearnSecurity.
Please specify both in the CV and in the coverletter the position you want to apply for. We need people who know what they want and who are passionate for their, maybe future, job!

Last but not least: depending on the skills and expertise, we could also accept candidates who want to work remotely.

If you have any questions feel free to reply here. As always your question could also help other people.

Note: please do consider this thread "actual" as soon as it's pinned :) We are hiring many talented people and we are growing a lot!

Hello,

Just curious about the security roles, especially for juniors, what exactly are the fields you're more interested in ? Forensics (windows/linux/network), exploit development, malware analysis / reverse engineering, pentesting (web apps / network) etc ?

You got the point :) Security has too many branches to enumerate them all here.

Also, will you accept and/or help with relocation, if it's necessary ? This one will probably be of interest to many people :)

Cheers and keep up the good work !

Mmm, let me reply with an example.

If someone wants to apply as, let us say, security researcher, they can also tell us their preferred field of expertise.

Hint: this is good material for a cover letter ;)

To me, relocating is always better: working in the office together with researchers, developers and other smart people is not only very stimulating, but helps a lot when you need a good idea.

Relocation support must be examined case by case.

Do you have a better list of the openings you're hiring for? I only see openings for a PHP Web Developer and a Security Researcher on the eLS site.

If you don't have a specific list but are just looking to hire folks that you think would fit into the organization somehow, that's fine. I'm just trying to figure out how write up a cover letter to send in, or if it's even worth it depending upon whether or not my current skill set would be of benefit as a means to get in and work on more of a transition into the infosec field.

Thanks.

Hi yci.sec,

Honestly, besides the two you mentioned, we do not have a complete list of available positions, but we have some other projects (I cannot discuss that right know) that need few more hands :).

The idea behind the post is to let you choose your preferred field based on your experience and skills. Of course it may fit or not our current needs but, let’s say you like virtualization and you like the idea of creating learning labs: we can surely build up something with Hera lab.

It’s worth to note that in the past we have launched few successful projects thanks to the skills and ideas our guys had and I honestly hope that will happen again.

So, once again, the important thing here is to understand what you like and what you want to do (I work much better if I like what I do J).

Hope this helps a bit!

PS.

Don’t be shy, and do not underestimate your knowledge and skills

Thank you very much for the response. I thought that might be the case, but figured I'd ask for clarification anyway. Definitely an interesting approach you guys are taking, and I can appreciate that. Sounds like I'll be trying to work up a cover letter and polish my resume this weekend.

Is there a submission deadline you guys are looking at, or is this kind of an open-ended thing for the time being?

Appreciate the words of encouragement.

Hi yci.sec,

there isn't a deadline, so take your time to write it without any pressure :) - In other words, enjoy your weekend :)

Nice!

There is not a deadline per se, but the pace here is so fast that I suggest you and anyone interested to submit your application as soon as you feel it's ready.

For cerain junior position, for example, we sometimes hire for potential, not only for experience.

I've just read the job offer for Security researcher @ https://www.elearnsecurity.com/company/careers

The job is for me personally very intresting (heck if yo are on this forum and you are not intrested something is wrong).
However i have less experience than the 3 year required and besides i whould have to move to fill the position

If you think you have something good to bring in eLS send us your resume and tell us in the coverletter why you should work here.

As I said in the opening post, there are a lot of new things coming out ;)

Do you guys have a time-frame of when you'll be letting candidates know one way or another if they've been selected for interviews? Or is there enough things in your pipeline that it could take quite a while as you're not ready yet and are simply getting a candidate pool together?

Hi,

we always reply to everyone. This usually takes two or three weeks, tops.

The ansers could be a "no", a proposal for an interview, "we will keep you resumee for future positions", a proposal for a different position or a mix of the previous. We do not use canned responses, so the applicant will actually be able to reply and ask questions :)

As told before, there are some already open positions and some new positions coming out in the next months.

I hope I am making myself clear, it is kinda hard to reply to those questions without seeming rude.

Thanks. You answered my questions well, and didn't come off as being rude at all.  Just trying to wrap my head around the process you guys have going :)

Nice to hear that you contact all people who submit.  I can appreciate how busy things are, how some things may still be in the works, etc.

Thanks, again, for your time and willingness to answer questions.
